To show or hide IE FTP Enhancer in Internet Explorer simply right mouse click on the Internet Explorer toolbar and click the "IE FTP Enhancer" popup menu. You can also select the "IE FTP Enhancer" menu from Internet Explorers "View/Toolbars" menu.

Registration

You are entitled to use IE FTP Enhancer free of charge for 30 days to evaluate it. You must then buy a registration code or uninstall the software. To buy a registration code you can click the 'Purchase registration code' menu from the 'FTP Servers' drop down menu button. To enter your registration number click the "Enter registration code" menu and fill out your name, company name if applicable and enter the serial number you received.

Menu options

Click the “FTP Servers” down arrow on the right of the button to show the drop down menu. You can also click the “FTP Servers” button to show the address book.

FTP address book

Click the "FTP address book" menu to bring up your FTP address book dialog. From here you can add, edit or delete FTP server addresses as well as connect to the selected server.

Add New

To enter a new address click the "Add new" button. This will show the New FTP server address dialog. You can save FTP server settings such as username, password, port number etc. in the address book. These details are stored in an AES 256 bit encrypted file on your computer so you can easily connect to all your FTP servers. If you have trouble connecting through a firewall you should check "Connect in passive mode".

If you check "Open Windows Explorer when connecting to this server", then a copy of Windows Explorer is loaded when you connect to this web site and opened at the directory path of your choice. This allows you to easily drag and drop files from your hard drive to your FTP server and vice versa.

Edit will allow you to alter the selected FTP server address.

Delete will remove the selected FTP server from your address book.

Connect will log onto the selected FTP server.

Uploading and downloading files

To download files simply select the files you wish to download from the connected site, right mouse click on the selected files and choose "Copy To Folder" from the popup menu. You then just choose the desired download folder and click OK. You can also drag and drop the selected files to a folder in Windows Explorer. (Except if you are running Windows 98 where this feature is not available).

To upload files simply select the files you wish to upload in Windows Explorer and then drag and drop them to the connected FTP site in Internet Explorer.
